This year, PACE will have a year-long theme for the Integrated Groups. At this time, students will have a chance to be curators of a school museum. They will study great artists, become familiar with artistic periods and how these times fit into history. Each student will also have a chance to practice becoming an artist through the development of his/her portfolio. Using the art they created and through the museum knowledge they acquire, students will be in charge of creating and organizing a public art museum. There are three phases to this project: Phase 1: Students will study an artist(s) from a particular time period and create art and a report based on the genre. Phase 2: Students will create works of 3D art and solve problems museums face. Phase 3: Students will assume the role of media specialist, artifact expert, section model maker, timeline designer, mounter and/or constructor in order to create a school art museum.
